Driver Profile >>> Chuck Uemura
I met up with Chuck Uemura of Team Mulsanne to snap some shots of his S13, I figured while we were there it only made sense to sit him down for a Q&A session.

First off, thanks for taking the time to do this interview.
Drew, of course I’m happy to do this!
Tell us about your car!
Well, it’s just a simple s13 coupe that started out as a two tone hard parkin’ queen, but now it is this teal eye sore with crooked puzzle pieces on the hood.
I threw in a reference picture, I still love your car like that. Two tone, missing an overfender, and half a 5 lug swap done. What got you interested in drifting?
In high school when the drifting scene was starting to trickle over to the states, I knew I wanted to drift. How fanboy does that sound?! Haha. When I was 15, my dad bought a super clean hatchback to drive around for fun and was going to give it to me once I got my license, but he ended up totaling the car. My dreams were shattered till’ I bought my current coupe on December 3rd, 2005.
That’s a bummer! Were you hooked after your first time?
I’ve been hooked ever since. It’s like when you go black, you never go back, yo.
Word. If you could build a dream drift car what would it be?
Wow! I’d have to say it’d have to be some skyline platform… probably an r33 sedan. How dope would that be?!
Ridiculously dope, zero wackness involved. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? With drifting or otherwise?
In 5 years, it’d be the 4th anniversary that I graduated college. I’ll probably be married, divorced and widowed with a handful of children, and 5 years closer to looking like my dad. Oh how lovely aging sounds.
I’ll still be drifting though, that’s for sure.
I can just see all the little Chuck’s running around, it’s a shame for the amount of women you’re going to go through though. Any desire to go professional?
Not at the moment, I’d be eaten alive by the pros! Who the heck am I to desire the pro level?!
Now on to a more serious question, and I am sorry to bring this into the discussion but, Bill Cosby or Bill Clinton?
Jerry Seinfeld.
Oh, curveball! Well played sir. Any shoutouts?
Bigig ups to my buddy Mike over at Jimmy Up Drift Apparel for putting clothes on my back, thanks to Bernard and Koji at DMAX USA for putting clothes on my car, all of the staff at Sonicmotor, Gary and Socal-Drift.com, Adrian over at DTC performance, everyone that I staff and drift with at 626 DRIFT and all my boys on Team Mulsanne!

Awesome interview! Funny to read and great photos! Hopefully I can get some interviews done sometime as well.
Keep the good stuff coming!
[...] Uemura before. He’s one of the guys in the world famous Mulsanne posse. He’s awesome. We even did a feature on him when we first started the site. Now, Chuck doesn’t drift much these days, but we decided to [...]
