Formula D Dopeness>>> Round 7 Irwindale 2011
Hello fellow fans of The Drift! If you were not able to join us this past weekend, you have missed out on what had to be one of the greatest events in years. Let’s just say our minds were blown. We were all on our toes the whole time. Scoring was tough with the level of driving from our professional drifting friends. For Ross…
Driving was intense throughout both days, with quite a few upsets and even more moments that kept the hair standing on your neck.
I have to say that the two drivers that impressed me this event were our friends Ken Gushi and Dean “Karnage” Kearney. These guys tore it up every run their tires hit the track.
Top 16 was insane! Way too many what if’s and what now’s…. At one point there was a possible outcome of 4 different potential champions for this season. Battles were so intense that if you happened to blink, you might have missed something….
In the battle for 3rd place, during Tylers’s lead run….Watch Out!!! This had to be the most impressive crash of the event; not a scratch on Chris, which we are all thankful for. Chris got out with a wave to the crowd and a shrug.
Tyler McQuarrie Takes the Win for Irwindale 2011!!
Congrats to Daijiro Yoshihara our 2011 Formula Drift Champion!!!
This has been a long time coming and is well deserved! 8 years in the making. I am definitely looking forward to April and what is to come of the 2012 Season. As everyone was packing down and cleaning up, Ross Fairfield and I had a chance to talk with Jarod, and we left on a note that has been stuck in my head to the day…
“I can’t wait for next year, I don’t know how we’re going to top this” Jarod DeAnda.
Pretty sure I can speak for others when I add in that I have been extremely excited for April from the moment Dai stepped off the podium.
Thank you everyone for joining us and your never ending support of OMGDrift. I’ll see everyone in Long Beach.
