Hi! I’m Javi, otherwise known as Javi Pho. I am an aspiring photographer and videographer from the East Coast, primarily just outside Philadelphia, PA. I am currently in my senior year of high school, and it’s been quite the ride.
I started taking pictures back when I was a freshman, but before I go into that, let’s go back to the roots of why i started. I noticed that I would always look at things differently with the intention of it being a “cool photo”. While I thought of many different ways to take a picture, I invested a lot of time into watching videos produced by my close friend, Mark Lenardon. Mark and I spent lots of time together with my uncle, Geoff Stoneback. Mark’s work always left an impression on me. When he unfortunately passed away, I aimed to keep his legacy alive through my vision. For the past four years, I’ve been doing exactly that. I have spent most of my time at local drifting events, such as Club Loose in Englishtown, New Jersey, learning and having a good time. Obviously, the more I went the more I progressed. My first major goal was to be a part of OMGDrift before they shut their doors a while back. It was upsetting, but I knew I had to focus on building myself and improving my work, so I did. I thought of many ideas to improve myself. I’ve tried to make my own media group that specialized in drifting on the East Coast, and a video series to post on the internet. My goal is to create content for people to enjoy.
Fast forward a year or so, Drew posted a tweet talking about his chair, and I noticed a picture on the screen in the background saying that OMGDrift is back. As soon as I read that I knew this was my chance, so I took my chance and replied asking how I could be a part of the rebirth of OMGDrift. Surprisingly, Drew replied and we talked for a bit. One thing led to another, here I am. I accomplished one of my biggest goals in the photography world. I became apart of the OMG family with just a Canon Rebel T5 and a GoPro. I would always think to myself that I need better equipment if I was going to be successful, but I was wrong. All I needed was my camera, GoPro, and most importantly, the support of my friends and family. Without that, I would have no clue where I would be today.
I hope y’all enjoyed reading this. I am happy to apart of OMG and can’t wait to bring more stuff to the table, but for now enjoy some of these photos I took! 🙂
