DriftSTL concluded its 2013 season last Saturday with the final Brolex event of the year at Gateway Motorsports Complex. Around 25 drivers from the Midwest turned out to attack Gateway’s beloved road course one last time before packing it up for the winter months and focusing on next year’s plans. Geoff Stoneback might have won the 2013 Midwest Drift Union Pro-am series, but he wasn’t the only one to receive a license to compete in Formula Drift. Michigan native Mike Skudlarek also secured an FD license for 2013, but this isn’t his first rodeo going to the big leagues. The 2013 Midwest Drift Union pro-am series concluded last weekend at Street Life Tour with Geoff Stoneback being crowned the overall champion, earning himself a Formula Drift license to compete for the 2014 season. Street Life Tour once again served as the final round of the Midwest Drift Union pro-am championship season, featuring lots of smoke, some big crashes, and the crowning of a new series champ. More after the jump!
Round 6 is in the books, and the first event at Texas Motor Speedway was full of surprises. Mike Essa and the GSR Autosport BMW M3 took home their second victory of the season, pushing them ahead of 3rd place finisher Chris Forsberg and the NOS Energy Drink 370z. 2nd place was taken by our very own Matt Field and the Blacktrax Performance/CX Racing S14.
Congrats to everyone on an amazing event, and congrats to Matt Field for his first (of many) carbon fiber trophy!

When I first picked up my camera in 2010, I was lost in the world of drift. I was just a fan with a camera, trying to figure out who owned which car and how my little camera worked. After going to an event or two, I met a group of cool guys with a handful of vibrant Japanese tuner cars and was invited to a local meet at a Sonic for fun and cool cars. The leader of the pack, Marco Tellez, stepped out of his green 240sx coupe and handed me a sticker for their meet and we kept talking since. Fast forward a few years and a handful of changes for that green car and we find ourselves a V8 powered teal monster.Read More
